Children of Rena Wuerfel, and grandchildren of Laverne and Rita Roth played at Kimberly BC in an accordion competition. Cordena is 16 and Colton 11, Colton came home with some 'firsts' and some cash.

Lordy, look who's 40!!

Penita Schnell turned 40 on January 5th, with a surprise party from her husband Noel on New Year's Eve. Family and friends celebrated the big birthday, along with a surprise appearance by her sister Penella from Dubai. (Penita is the granddaughter of the late Olga Roth [Gomke]).

Rena Wuerfel had a big birthday on January 8th. Oh lordy, Rena is 40! Celebrating with a tropical theme, family and friends had a surprise party for her via slide show sent over Internet and Roxy (from Salmon Arm www.roxyfx.com/about.html ) singing a song for her on skype (an awesome way to 'be there', when you're not). (Rena is the granddaughter of Esther Roth [Gomke]).

Christmas Proposal

Gerritt Jans popped the big question during the Christmas break to Ashley Lesmeister, his girlfriend of 4 years. Of course she said "yes"!! The wedding is planned to take place in October.

House Fire Remembered--One Year Ago

On December 27, 2008, Jolene (Jans) and Trevor Warburton had a house fire at 10:30pm. Everyone was in the house at the time of the fire but were able to leave before the fire was on the top floor. They lived with Jolene's father Dale and step mother until June 1, 2009 when they bought a holiday trailer to live in. Their house was gutted and rebuilt. On July 1st, 2009, Trevor, Jolene, Tenley, Tripp, Harley and JD (Harley and JD are the dogs) were able to move back into their home.

Darlene Knight (Roth) Celebrating 60!

Dar recently celebrated her 60th birthday party which came as a complete surprise to her. She is now entering her golden years and since she has now retired, will have plenty of time for her first love-reading (after me, [Pete] of course). Interacting with her grandkids is another of her passions.
We wish her well.

Behind the Name: Hunter Eric-George Roth (Hunter was chosen by Geoff and we all love the name, Eric is short for Erickson which is on mom's side of the family... George is from Diana's dad).
